Tower Mounted Amplifier

In a base transceiver station as pictured above, a Tower Mounted Amplifier is mounted as close as practical to the antenna in order ton reduce the base transceiver station noise figure and therefore improve its overall sensitivity. In order to guarantee the continuity of service when power is lost, a failsafe functionality is implemented, typically using expensive mechanical relays or cumbersome Schottky diode.
Guerrilla RF GRF6011 provides failsafe operation with one RF path defaulting to a low insertion loss state, with all power removed and the other path defaulting to a high insertion loss state. Build on GaAs technology, this new high linearity switch provides a cost effective, high reliability failsafe capability along with a tiny application footprint.
